Our Fig & Bloom 3-Day Kids Cake Camp, is a hands on learning experience where your child will acquire essential baking and decorating skills in a fun and supportive environment. They will learn the art of baking and decorating their very own celebration cake. In this three day course we will cover everything from the introduction of baking and ingredients to the creative process of sketching a design and finally what it takes to bring that design to life. This camp provides an opportunity for your child to develop patience, attention to detail, and problem solving skills - all valuable traits that extend beyond the kitchen. Our intention is to have as much fun as possible all while achieving a sense of accomplishment, pride and boosting your child’s confidence as they see their creations come to life, fostering a love for the culinary arts. Each student will leave with their very own confection masterpiece and a pastry certificate graduating from their cake decorating course.

Camps run 12 - 5pm daily. No snacks or lunch provided. Please bring a personal water bottle and snacks if needed.

Day 1:

  • Introduction to the world of baking: ingredients, tools, and safety tips.

  • Hands-on baking session to make the cake layers. Each child gets to mix ingredients, pour batter into pans, and learn about oven safety.

  • While the cakes bake, a demonstration on different types of frosting: buttercream, whipped cream, and ganache.

  • Group discussion on cake design ideas for the final day.

Day 2:

  • Cake assembly: kids learn how to level, fill, and stack their cake layers.

  • Introduction to basic cake decorating techniques: crumb coating, smoothing frosting, and simple piping.

  • Creative session: kids sketch their cake designs and receive guidance from instructor on how to execute them.

Day 3:

  • Final cake decorating challenge: children bring their design sketches to life, applying all the skills they've learned.

  • Instructor provides individual guidance and support as kids decorate their cakes.

  • Cake showcase: each child presents their finished cake to the group, explaining their design inspiration and the techniques they used.

  • Cake tasting and celebration: everyone enjoys a slice of cake, celebrating their hard work and creativity.

  • Each student receives a certificate of course completion to commemorate their achievements.
